AG: The only things we were missing were more dinosaurs, more trucks, and more snacks. And Levi was, like, hiding under my leg. How was modeling in this campaign different or perhaps more special than being in front of the camera for a top fashion campaign or walking down a runway? KK: This is a campaign that is so authentic, and so actually—Ashley, I don’t know if you feel this way—but given that we’ve both been in the industry and worked as models for so many years, I feel like it’s actually easier to play a character on a runway or in a photoshoot. You kind of take on this other persona, whereas this photoshoot was so deeply personal.

You both spoke a lot about handling unsolicited advice, but I’m also curious about negativity. When I was pregnant and after I had my daughter, I realized that a lot of parents, when you first meet or connect, they often lead with the negative—“Get ready to never sleep again,” or “Live it up now until you no longer have a life,” or “Just wait until they hit the terrible twos.” I don’t think parents know they do this and perhaps it’s just a strange subconscious way of connecting, but I am curious to know how you tackle this and how it makes you feel?
