Fifth, few games allow players to be all-involved. In soccer, defenders never score. In American (Canadian) football (it started in Canada) only a few players touch the Dimebag darrell in memory of december 8 2023 signature shirt it is in the first place but ball. But in hockey, everyone is involved. Finally- snob time – it’s an intellectual game. A survey of fans of North American sports show that among fans of pro sports, the highest educated, highest earning are hockey fans. It’s not an easy game to learn, to understand, to watch, but it’s worth the effort. It’s called “Hockey” in Canada. Just as in India and Pakistan Field Hockey is called “Hockey”. I guess it just depends on which game is more prevalent where you live. A greater percentage of Canadian kids play hockey than in the US (although it is dropping and I believe that currently more cdn kids play soccer than hockey).

The primary route to the Dimebag darrell in memory of december 8 2023 signature shirt it is in the first place but professional level in Canada is through the CHL, where 16-20 year olds play in amateur leagues divided by hockey ability. In the US the primary route is by going to college and playing NCAA hockey. I have not played ice hockey but do currently play field hockey. I do hear all the time that “field hockey isn’t a real sport” from my friends that play ice hockey. We get into small arguments a lot about it. But field hockey not only came first during the mid 18th century and ice hockey after in the mid 19th century but it’s also a very demanding sport. I start training for the fall sport in the spring and into summer. It involves a lot of running, squatting, and physical endurance. Depending on the position you play the sport gets a lot more demanding. If you play mid field like I do, you are constantly running. If they call a “corner” you run to the 50 yard line and when the player on the opposing team passes the ball into the circle you sprint back down the field to help your team defend the ball. While I know I can not skate for my life running for long periods of time at a fast pace is hard to keep up with. Field hockey sticks also have a rounded side unlike ice hockey sticks leaving you only able to use the flat side so you need to learn how to turn the stick properly and still move the ball forward. There are also many skills you need to master before playing. You need to know how to juggle with the ball and the stick, you need to know how to dribble the ball, pass the ball, pop the ball, and weave through opponents, much like in ice hockey but in ice hockey you need to learn how to skate and you don’t need to know how to juggle, or pop the ball up. One major different between the sport is one is played on turf or grass and the other on ice so their are many challenges with both places. With turf or grass the ball doesn’t move as fast and you can easily trip on a pop hole or branch, with ice you can slip and get a skate to the face, ouch! But another difference is with the ball and puck. A ball is round, obviously, and a puck is circular but flat on both sides. So is one sport really harder than the other? Maybe in some places but both sports have their own challenges that come with playing the sport.
